Bangkok is known as the ‘City of Angels’, the city that never sleeps and if you are planning on spending a few days (or weeks) in this amazing metropolis, we have you covered. There is so much to see and do in ‘Krung Thep’ and in this short article, we present a few really cool things to do.

  1. Dance The Night Away – If you are a night owl, you simply must spend an evening on Sukhumvit Road, the king of nighttime entertainment areas. Located in side streets on the main road, these areas start to get lively at around 9 pm and they close their doors at 2 am. Great drinks, loud music and an exciting vibe, what more could you ask? If you spent the day in one of the conference rooms in Bangkok presenting your concept, what better way to unwind than dancing the night away in Bangkok’s top entertainment district?
  2. Visit The Weekend Market At Jatuchak – The largest market in Thailand where you can buy just about anything! This is where the Thai people go when they want a bargain; haggling is all part of the process; spend a day exploring this huge marketplace and you still won’t have seen it all. A great place to buy souvenirs for the whole family. The market opens on Saturday and Sunday at 8 am until late. Click here for important information on currency exchange.
  3. Experience A Thai Temple Tour – Take one of the organised Buddhist temple tours to include some of the best temples the city has to offer; if you are adventurous, hire a Tuk-Tuk driver for the day and let him take you to a few temples. Either way, you are in for a day to remember and don’t forget to take your camera! Enjoy the colourful architecture and the serene atmosphere and you can find out your fortune at the same time with the shaking sticks.
  4. Explore The Canal Network – You might not be aware that Bangkok has an amazing network of canals; indeed, the locals use the canal taxis to beat the insane Bangkok traffic. As you travel down the canals, you get to see how Thai people really live and if you are adventurous, set off without a plan and see where the day takes you! You will see things that no tour will reveal, the real Thailand some would say.
  5. Enjoy A Dinner Cruise On The Chao Phraya River – This is a must for every visitor to Bangkok; all the major hotels on the banks of the river have large boats that take people down the river for 90 minutes, then return. Experience famous temples illuminated by coloured spotlights, with a delicious buffet dinner and genuine Thai dancing, for a night to remember.

One thing is for sure, if this is your first visit to Bangkok, it certainly won’t be your last! We hope that the above information helps you to plan the perfect stay in an amazing city.
