5. Woodland Dynamite Chili Cook Off
Going strong since 1998, this crowd favorite is a big draw for the community in Woodland. There are also activities for children including pony rides, bounce houses, and games, while adults get to revel in awesome live music shows and the delicious dishes. This event is held at Rotary Park in the Yolo County Fair Grounds.
6. Christmas Parade
This Yuletide parade put on by the Woodland Chamber of Commerce draws upwards of 30,000 attendees every year! One of the largest holiday parades in Northern California, the event has over 150 entries each year spanning from floats and marching bands to dancing groups and military units. The parade runs down Main Street through the historic Woodland downtown.
7. Museums
Some of the popular museum destinations in Woodland include The Heidrick Ag History Center, which is an agricultural museum, Reiff’s Antique Gas Station Automotive Museum, and Yolo County Historical Museum. The city provides more than 394 acres of park and recreation facilities, including 149 acres of developed parkland and a 13-acre community and Senior Center.
