The Foger Switch Pro is one of the most advanced disposable vapes on the market today, but the fact that it’s more advanced than other vapes also means that it’s more complex. So, if you have a Foger vape that’s not working, you’re going to have a bit of troubleshooting to do because there are several things that can potentially go wrong with this device.
The reason why the Foger vape is more complex than other disposable vapes is because it comes in two parts. You have the part that stores the e-liquid – which Foger calls a pod even though it actually works as a standalone vaping device on its own – and you have the charging dock, which is required to charge the pod. If the pod part of the Foger vape doesn’t work, the problem is almost always related to charging the battery.
If your Foger vape isn’t working, this is the guide for you. We’re going to explain everything you need to know in order to fix it.

Basic Troubleshooting
Before you go too far into the woods trying to fix a charging issue with your Foger vape, you should do a little basic troubleshooting to confirm that the device is working and that you’re using it correctly.
- Check the tank to make sure that isn’t empty. Since the Foger vape has a transparent tank, this is easy to do – you can just look at it. If you’re out of vape juice, your Foger vape obviously won’t work.
- If your Foger vape has never worked, try puffing a little harder. It could be that the airflow channel is clogged, causing the sensor to not register your puffs.
- Connect the Foger vape to the charging dock. If the light turns on, it means that the vape wasn’t working because the battery was dead. Wait a few minutes for the battery to charge, and the device should then be ready to use.
As we mentioned at the beginning of the article, the Foger vape does need the dock in order to charge. You charge the dock by connecting it to your computer, and you charge the vape by connecting it to the dock. If you don’t have a dock, it means that you mistakenly bought the pod on its own. In this case, you’ll need to go back to the vape shop and buy a full kit with a charging dock.
If your Foger vape still isn’t working, it’s most likely a charging problem that’s causing the issue. Charging the Foger vape happens in two steps – you have to charge the dock before the dock can charge the device – so we’ll walk you through troubleshooting the potential problems that can happen at each step.
Troubleshooting A Foger Dock That Isn’t Charging
When you connect the Foger dock to your computer with a USB cable, the battery indicator on the dock should light up and show you what the battery’s current charge level is. If that doesn’t happen, it means that the dock isn’t charging. Here’s what you should do next.
- Try charging the dock with a different USB cable. Replacing the cable fixes most charging problems with vaping devices because it’s common for USB cables to develop internal wiring faults when they’re connected and disconnected several times a day.
- Clean the USB port on the dock with a toothpick or a can of compressed air. Make sure that the port is completely free of lint and dust because anything that prevents the charging cable from touching the pins in the port can potentially stop the dock from charging.
- Try charging the dock with a different power source. It’s okay to charge your Foger dock with a wall charger that has an output of 5 volts and 0.5-1 amp. Anything more than that can potentially overheat the battery and should be avoided. If you don’t have a wall adapter with those specifications available, you should charge the dock with your computer only.
If you’re successful in getting the Foger dock to charge by following the above instructions, you should wait about 50-60 minutes for the charging process to finish before using your Foger vape again. You can charge the dock while the vape is connected to it if you like; the dock and vape will charge simultaneously.
Troubleshooting A Foger Pod That Isn’t Charging
If your Foger vape still isn’t working, it means that the dock is charging properly, but it isn’t charging the device. That’s the reason why the Foger vape is more complicated than many other disposable vapes – because charging it is a two-part process. When you connect the Foger vape to the charging dock, the device should light up to indicate that the vape is charging. Here’s what you should do next if that doesn’t happen.
- Twist the Foger vape gently while it’s connected to the dock. All of the metal pins on the bottom of the device need to touch the corresponding pins on the bottom of the dock, or the device won’t charge. Often, turning the vape slightly will get the pins to touch, and the device will start charging.
- If twisting the device doesn’t work, disconnect the device and dock. Push the pins on the device and dock gently with your finger or a pencil eraser. The pins are spring-loaded and should bounce back automatically. They can get stuck if dust or e-liquid gets on them. Pushing them, however, should get them moving again.
- You should also make sure that the pins on the device and dock are clean. The dock may be particularly susceptible to contamination if you’ve been using it for a while. In most cases, rubbing the pins with a pencil eraser should be sufficient to remove any surface oxidation or residue. If that doesn’t work, you can also use a cotton swab moistened with a little isopropyl alcohol.
- If nothing else works, try twisting the bottom off of the vape and looking for the charging wires that lead to the battery. When you connect the vape to the dock, the pins should push in and touch the wires. It’s possible for the wires to become misaligned if the device is jostled, but you can realign them gently by hand. Put the bottom cap back on and try charging the vape again.
